MANLIFT (PERSONNEL AND MATERIAL LIFTING) OPERATOR CERTIFICATE

Manlift (Personnel and Material Lifting) covers Scissor Lifts, Vertical Platforms, Articulating Platforms, Telescopic Platforms, Boom Lifts, and all other machinery used for lifting personnel and materials. Trainees who complete the 60-lesson training attend the centrally held theoretical and practical exam, and those who succeed are entitled to receive the certificate.

Is a Manlift Operator Certificate Mandatory?

There are frequent questions about the mandatory certification for individuals operating Manlifts (personnel lifts). It is a legal requirement for employees who use Manlifts to obtain an operator certificate. Since personnel and material lifting equipment are defined as construction machinery, your employees who will use construction machinery are subject to the operator certificate requirement.

Where to Get a Manlift Operator Certificate?

The Manlift (Personnel and Material Lifting) operator certificate/license can only be obtained from licensed private construction machinery courses affiliated with the Ministry of National Education (MEB). Occupational Safety Rules Manlift (Personnel and Material Lifting) Operators Must Follow:

• Ensure that the Manlift you will use is selected appropriately for the load capacity and the height you intend to reach.

• Take precautions regarding environmental safety before starting work.

• Do not operate the Manlift without performing the necessary checks specified in the user manual.

• Check that the ground where the Manlift will be used is level and suitable for use.

• Do not use machines whose periodic technical checks have not been performed.

Can a Manlift be operated with a Forklift or Crane License?

With a Forklift license, you can only operate a forklift. With a Crane license, you can only operate a crane. The name and features of the machine you use are written on the licenses of the construction machinery. Do not use the machine without performing these checks. Employees with a forklift or crane license cannot operate a Manlift. The Manlift (Personnel and Material Lifting) is intended for the purpose of elevating to the working area and carrying simple tools and loads appropriate to the capacity in the working area.

What are the required documents for the Manlift Operator Certificate?

• Must be over 18 and commenced 19 years of age.

• Must be at least a primary school graduate (Ilkokul/İlköğretim).

• Obtain a medical report with the statement "may be a G class driver" (must not have a health impediment according to the provisions of the Regulation on Health Requirements for Driver Candidates and Drivers and their Examinations).

• Two biometric photographs.

• No criminal record and providing documentation thereof.
