FORKLIFT (LIFTING – LOADING – STACKING) CONSTRUCTION MACHINE OPERATOR CERTIFICATE

The forklift, which is preferred for lifting, loading, stacking, or unstacking operations, falls into the category of construction machinery. Candidates who attend the forklift training participate in both theoretical and practical lessons. The theoretical training includes a curriculum based on the topics to be covered in the written exam. The practical training starts with an introduction to the construction machine at the vehicle and continues with basic driving techniques after the introduction of the machine’s components. After learning the basic operating conditions, candidates are shown how to collect, lift, and stack five-pallet loads. Upon the completion of this process, demo exams are created by combining all training steps, including slalom exercises.

Participation Requirements for the Forklift Operator Course:

• Must be over 18 and commenced 19 years of age.

• Must be at least a primary school graduate (Ilkokul/İlköğretim).

• Obtain a medical report with the statement "may be a G class driver" (must not have a health impediment according to the provisions of the Regulation on Health Requirements for Driver Candidates and Drivers and their Examinations).

• Two biometric photographs.

• No criminal record and providing documentation thereof.

Forklift Operator: An operator who actively uses a forklift, has received the necessary training, and holds the relevant certificate is called a forklift operator. It is forbidden for individuals without a forklift operator certificate to use a forklift. It is legally an offense for employees without a forklift license to operate a forklift. Employers or their representatives who allow employees without a forklift operator certificate to use a forklift are considered to have committed an offense according to the Occupational Health and Safety Law No. 6331.

What should be done to use a Forklift on Highways?

In Article 36 of the Highway Traffic Law, it is forbidden for motor vehicles to be driven on highways by persons without a driving license and to permit such driving. Persons with a forklift operator certificate can use a forklift on highways by having these certificates registered on their driver's licenses. Can I register the Forklift Operator Certificate on my Driver's License?

Yes, you can. If you have a driver's license of any class, you can have it registered. You can apply with your driver's license and G class construction machinery operator certificate to the traffic branch directorates within the Police Departments in your province or district. Your driver's license will be updated, and your construction machinery operator certification will also be added to your license with this update.

Which exams will I take for the forklift certificate?

You will take 2 exams for the Construction Machinery operator certificate: theoretical and practical. Candidates who succeed in the theoretical exam are entitled to take the practical exam conducted practically on the machine. Candidates who succeed in both exams are entitled to receive the G class operator certificate. The construction machinery operator exams are held centrally by the Ministry of National Education.
